Symptoms
- MCRSync Monitor shows UNHEALTHY for the PCIe-OSC
- System time appears stable, but the card status remains UNHEALTHY
Causes
- Normal behavior: the PCIe-OSC does not accept an external reference input, so it cannot report a locked reference state
- The system is using a PCIe-OSC when an externally locked card model (for example a timecode-capable PCIe card) was expected
Suggested solutions or troubleshooting steps
- Confirm the installed PCIe card model. If the installed card is a PCIe-OSC, an UNHEALTHY indication in MCRSync Monitor can be expected.
- Verify your intended reference behavior. If you require the card to lock to an external reference (GPS, timecode, etc.), confirm you are using the correct PCIe card model for that application.
- Validate timing behavior rather than the status label. If system time is stable and behaving as expected for your application, no action is required for PCIe-OSC UNHEALTHY alone.
