What the product Test Report / Certificate of Conformance covers

The product Test Report / Certificate of Conformance identifies a specific device by serial number and certifies that it meets or exceeds the specifications listed for that product. It normally does not contain every individual measured test value.

Production acceptance can include measurements and waveform inspection. For example, a time-code output may be checked on an oscilloscope against the applicable tolerances without recording its exact Vp-p value on the customer’s certificate. Units that fail acceptance requirements are rejected.

This document does not, by itself, establish an accredited calibration certificate or a detailed measurement record. If your acceptance process requires measured values, measurement uncertainty or calibration traceability, specify those requirements when requesting documentation.

Declarations, test reports and certification

Many product compliance statements are supported by manufacturer declarations. A declaration of conformity, an EMC test report and a certificate issued by an independent body are different documents. Use the document’s actual scope, model, revision and listed standards when evaluating a product.

Available EMC testing includes EN 55035:2017 and EN 55032:2015/A11:2020, supporting applicable CE requirements. This does not establish that every product variant has an independent certificate to each standard. Request the applicable model’s declaration and supporting report where needed.

RoHS and TAA documentation

RoHS documentation and product CE declarations are available under Resources > Product Compliance. Use the declaration covering the product you are evaluating.

TAA compliance is manufacturer-declared against applicable Trade Agreements Act requirements, including FAR 52.225-5. Request the declaration for the product and procurement requirement in question; a manufacturer declaration should not be described as independent third-party certification.

Request the correct documentation

Contact Masterclock Support for documentation that is not listed publicly. Availability and scope must be confirmed for the requested product.
