Symptoms

Symptoms vary by configuration and environment.

Causes
Suggested solutions or troubleshooting steps
  1. Confirm the device and client can reach each other on the network.
  2. Verify required ports are permitted for the feature in use.
  3. Test on the same subnet to isolate routing or VLAN effects.
Fix
  1. If using DHCP, confirm a DHCP/BOOTP server is present and reachable on the LAN.
  2. Check for IP address conflicts, a duplicate IP can force fallback behavior.
  3. If DHCP is not available, switch the device to static IP mode.
  4. Reboot the device and rediscover it after changes.
