Wrong UTC time or date when using time code input

Incorrect UTC/date from SMPTE or IRIG input is usually caused by missing date encoding, bad signal level, or offset/DST handling at the source or receiver.

  1. In WinDiscovery, verify time display settings (UTC vs local), time zone, DST, and any configured offsets.
  2. Check inputs, cabling, and network connectivity.
  3. Restart and re-test after each change to isolate the cause.
Fix
  1. Confirm time code signal is present and at a valid level at the device input.
  2. Confirm your source is actually encoding date/year (SMPTE Leitch-style user bits, IRIG-B IEEE 1344 control functions).
  3. Disable DST/time zone offsets at the source, or compensate using receiver offset settings where available.
  4. If using non-date-encoded time code with overwrite features, ensure overwrite settings match your intended behavior.
