Why won’t my computer recognize the Masterclock PCIe card?

Symptoms

• The card is not listed in Device Manager, or shows an error.
• MCRSync cannot communicate with the card.
• Firmware/version reads as 0.0.0 or appears missing.
• The system becomes unstable after installation.

Causes

• Loose connections or inadequate power
• Hardware not seated or detected
• Environmental conditions outside recommended limits

Troubleshooting steps

1. Power down the PC and physically re-seat the card. Ensure it is fully inserted and secured.
2. Try a different PCIe slot to rule out slot issues or lane limitations.
3. Confirm the system BIOS/UEFI is up to date and that PCIe slots are enabled.
4. Install or update the required drivers and reboot.
5. Check Device Manager for the device status and error codes.

If the system is unstable

• Disable sleep/hibernate features during troubleshooting, some systems resume poorly with certain PCIe cards installed.
• Review Windows Event Viewer for hardware or driver errors.
• Verify adequate power and cooling in the host system.
