What UTC is

• Displayed time is inconsistent with the expected reference
• Time changes unexpectedly or appears incorrect after configuration changes

• Incorrect time zone, Daylight Saving Time (DST), or display mode (UTC vs local) settings in WinDiscovery
• Incorrect time-handling settings (time zone, DST, offsets, UTC vs local display)
• Signal integrity issue (cable type and length, connector seating, grounding/shielding, or signal level)

1. In WinDiscovery, verify the selected time zone, DST settings, and whether the device is set to display UTC or local time.
2. Check inputs, cabling, and network connectivity.
3. Restart and re-test after each change to isolate the cause.

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the global timescale based on highly accurate atomic clocks. It is the international standard against which clocks are synchronized.

Most time distribution systems (including NTP) use UTC as the reference. Local time is typically handled by the client or display using time zone and daylight saving rules.
